Marian Elaine Toms

Marian Elaine Toms, 102, of Cromwell, CT died Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

Miss Toms was born in Seoul, Korea to J.U. Selwyn Toms and Ella Burt Toms.

She retired as Commander after 32 years of service in the US Naval Reserves and served as Lieutenant during World War II.    She retired from the Naval Research Lab of the US Dept. of Navy.

Miss Toms was a graduate of Wilson College and received her M.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

She was a life member of the Naval Reserve Association, the Reserve Officer Association and a retired fellow of American Physics Society and was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

She is survived by her niece,  Martha Toms, Loudon, TN.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 2 pm at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Morris Hudgins officiating.
