Martha (Webster) Gordon

Martha Webster Gordon, 67 of Ooltewah, TN, died on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

She was born and raised in Knoxville, TN to the late Hubert E. Webster and Thelma Lafollette Webster.  Martha graduated in 1968 from Young High School and then from UTK in 1971, receiving her BS in Accounting.  She was a member of the Sigma Kappa Fraternity and she received her Master’s Degree in Accounting from UTK as well.   Martha married David Ashton Gordon in 1978 and then in 1992, they moved to Ooltewah, TN.

They joined Brainerd United Methodist Church and Martha became the Business Administrator for the Church.  She was involved with the UMW, Seasoned Women class and served on various church committees as well.  Martha was currently serving as the UMW President.

Survivors include her husband, David A. Gordon and their son, Christopher D. Gordon.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, May 21, at the Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37411, with Rev. Terri Lowe and Dr. Adam McKee officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brainerd United Methodist Church Cemetery.
