Mary Moore Clements, born on June 22, 1977, passed away at home on January 26, 2019.
Mary Moore attended East Brainerd Elementary School and graduated from Boyd Buchanan School in 1995. She attended the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga and Chattanooga State. A Certified Medical Assistant, she worked, from time to time, for medical practices. A great lover of children, she also worked as a nanny and babysitter and was very devoted to the children in her care. Her love of animals was satisfied during the time she worked as a receptionist at the Chattanooga Veterinary Clinic, where she forged deep bonds with the pets served by the clinic.
To the delight of her maternal grandmother, Lydia, she took piano lessons for many years and she enjoyed singing in choirs at school, at church and in the Chattanooga Girls Choir.
She loved the beach and the lake and her family has many fond memories of her at both – particularly the hours and hours she would spend on the jet-ski on Lake Chickamauga flying up and down the slough.
Mary Moore was a breast cancer survivor and she supported the American Cancer Society by walking and raising money in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks.
She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, a congregation that loved and encouraged her all her life.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. O.H. Clements and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilson Moore.
She is survived by her parents, Dr. Joel and Anne Clements of Chattanooga; brothers, Carter Clements, of Chattanooga and Dr. Wilson (Emily) Clements of Chattanooga; nephew, whom she adored, Hayden Clements; uncles Howell (Sylvia) Clements and Paul (Gayle) Moore; numerous cousins and other loving relatives; and her devoted and beloved Chihuahua, Mykee.
