Mary Sue (Burkhalter) Moore

Mary Sue Burkhalter Moore, age 81, passed away on July 12, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Sue was a graduate of Tyner High School and was of the Baptist faith.

She spent much of her career as a bookkeeper at Lilie & McCall but will be most remembered as a wonderful mother and good friend to all who knew her.

Sue was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Moore; brother, Reb Burkhalter; sister, Emily Miller; father and step mother, Bill and Jewel Burkhalter; mother, Charlotte Turner.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Merry) Moore of Chattanooga; daughter, Janice (Tom) Werner of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; Brother, David Burkhalter and sister, Carol Walters, both of Chattanooga; grandson, Danny Moore; Granddaughter, Rebecca (Jason) Liechty; great-grandchildren, Josh, Jacob, Addison, Harper, and several nieces and nephews. She also had a special bond with the two little boys next door, Jax and Hoss.

Very special thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Bobbie, Sandra, Nina, and Cindy for helping our mother through this difficult journey. You have become a part of our family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd.
