Mary Jo (Gough) Scott

Mary Jo Gough Scott, age 70, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2020.

Jo was born on May 8, 1949 and raised in Jacksonville, Florida before attending the University of Georgia. She was a long-time resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she raised her children and spent many years caring for patients as a registered nurse. In 2014, she relocated to Nashville to be closer to family.

Jo is survived by her children, Katherine (Jay) of Nashville and Ben (Lauren) of Memphis, her sister, Kay (Ken) of Jacksonville, and her six grandchildren, in each of whom she took particular delight: Mary Paige, Caroline, Elizabeth, Harrison, Oliver, and Andrew. 

A memorial service for family was held on Saturday, January 18 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, Jo’s church home for many years.
