Mary Ruth Whisenant

Mary Ruth Whisenant, 89, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 in a local healthcare center.

A native of Copperhill, TN, Mrs. Whisenant enjoyed exercising, traveling, reading and quilting and she loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Whisenant was of the Church of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt James Whisenant; son, Johnny R. Wilson; parents, John & Etta Crawford; and several siblings.

Survivors are her daughters, Elizabeth (Duane) Inghram, Ooltewah and Debbie (Ray) Johnson, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA;  daughter in law, Alecia Wilson, Chattanooga; 6 grandchildren, Lori (Eddie) Holcomb, Mandy (David) Bartal, Ashley (Michael) Lawrence, Amy (Michael) Thomas, Ben R. (Sarah) Campbell, and Emily (Michael) Dills; 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 10th at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chad Harris officiating.   A graveside service will be held at 5 PM Sunday at Rockview Baptist Church Cemetery in Niota, TN with Drake Dills, Cole Dills, Michael Dills, Ben Campbell, Duane Inghram, and Michael Thomas serving as pallbearers.
