Nicholas Scott Galinger, 38, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 in a local hospital from injuries sustained in an accident.
Nicholas was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and has lived in Chattanooga since August, 2018.
He moved to Chattanooga to pursue his dream to become a police officer. He has served with the Chattanooga Police Dept. since January, 2019.
Nicholas was a graduate of Clermont Northwestern High School and Devry University. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was an avid computer animation fan.
He is survived by his son, Ethan Galinger and daughter, Hailey Galinger both of Cincinnati, Ohio; parents, Barry and Gretchen Galinger, Ellabell, GA; sisters, Tonya (Timothy) Hasty, Tiffany Galinger both of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Barry Douglas (Stephanie) Galinger II, Ft. Irwin, CA and Brent (Jennifer) Galinger, Ellabell, GA; grandmothers, Eileen Galinger, Ft. Thomas, KY and Patricia Ann Nolan, Cincinnati, OH; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church, 6474 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45230. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Cinn., OH.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28th from 12 -5 pm at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Avenue, Cinn., OH 45230. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga Police dept. or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements for Officer Galinger are being handled locally by the Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
