Norma Jean (Allen) McDade

Norma Jean Allen McDade, 94, passed away on March 10, 2023, in Chattanooga, TN. Born in Cleveland, TN, to Viola Stevason and William Allen, Norma lived most of her life in Chattanooga. She attended East Ridge Baptist Church (Crosspath) for over 60 years, and retired from her position as office manager for Dr. Jack Minks, optometrist.

She joins in heaven her beloved husband, Charles Vernon McDade, her twin sister, Mary Rievley Harris, and grandchildren Rebecca Meyer Soulia and Benjamin Meyer.

 She will be greatly missed by her daughter Gail McDade Meyer (Steve), grandson Eric Meyer, and great-grandchildren Morgan and Evan Soulia of Pittsburgh. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Norma was a wonderful, sweet woman with a beautiful voice and manner. She loved working outdoors in her flowers, and truly had a green thumb! The family wishes to thank all those at the Lantern at Morning Pointe for the love and care they gave her during her illness, and to her special caregivers A’kita and Carmen.

The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:30 P.M. Friday March 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
