Rachel Louise (Gutt) Myers

In loving memory of Rachel Louise Gutt Myers, who peacefully passed away at the age of 95, surrounded by family. Born on January 1, 1928, in Underhill, Wisconsin, her life unfolded with joy, laughter, and an unwavering kindness that touched the lives of family and friends alike.

Rachel attended Cedar Lake Academy in Michigan where she met Clifford Orlando Myers. They shared almost seven decades of marriage, creating a legacy of enduring love. Alongside her beloved husband, Clifford, she embraced a life of adventure as snowbirds, enjoying winters in the sunshine of Avon Park, Florida. Rachel worked many vocations, some of which included making fishing lures, a lifeguard, a secretary at a dental office, and finally retiring from McKee Bakery after 23 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford O. Myers; son, Clifford C. Myers; daughter-in-law, Judy Moon Myers; parents, Ernst Gutt and Louise Krueger; brothers Eric and Larry; and twin sisters, Leona and Viola.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Lloyd) Schomburg; son, Bruce Myers; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Myers; as well as 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In her 95 years, she witnessed the world change, yet her values of hospitality, resilience, and devotion to her faith and family remained steadfast. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us celebrate a life well-lived and carry forward the lessons she so generously imparted.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Collegedale Memorial Park.
