Randall G. Brown

November 27, 1946 ~ January 25, 2018 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Randall Brown, 71, of Dalton, GA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018 surrounded by his family after an 11 month battle with pancreatic and bone cancer.

 

Randall was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church.  He worked in the Telecommunications business, and began his career as an Installer - Repairman working for GTE, Alltel and retired from Windstream after 47 years as the Manager in Chatsworth.  

 

In 1971 he became active in the Eastside Fire Department as a Volunteer Firefighter. He worked for the creation of a government sponsored Fire Service in Whitfield County, when countywide fire protection was instituted in Whitfield County in November 1977, he remained with the Department, serving in various job functions.  He was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief in May 1980 until he resigned in April 1996.

 

One of Randall’s hobbies was breeding and raising Show Bantams, although he won many awards his best by far is The 1989 Ohio National Show where he had Show Champion. He also enjoyed woodworking, Genealogy, and growing Daylilies.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur and Mabel Brown, brother,  Jerry L. Brown, Father and Mother In Law, Herbert and Dorothy Garner, special grandson, Nathan Braddy.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Angela Garner Brown, daughters Mitzi (Ricky) Reed of Chatsworth, Tammy (David) Manly of Dalton, special “son” Mac (Shea) MacFadden of Cohutta.  Sister In Law Nancy Brown of Dalton, Sharon Pettit of Tunnel Hill,  and Deborah Garner of Gruetli, TN.  Grandchildren, Holly Hennessee, Cody Manly, Rylee Hennessee, LauraBeth Manly of Dalton, Jennifer (Jon) Wilson of Alaska, Haley (Blake) Bennett of Calhoun, Mathew Rice of Dalton, Ashley (Dylan) Blalock, Zach Reed, Deanna (Jason) Wallace, and Shawn (Lori) Reed, Great Grandchildren, Peyton, Caleb, Noah Wilson of Alaska, Renly Gunn of Cartersville, Katelyn and Luke Wallace, Branson Joyce, and McKenzie Reed, and several nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 29 at Julian Peeples Funeral Home Chapel with Ricky Head and Donald Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
