Raymond Samuel Rich

Raymond Samuel Rich, 57, of Ooltewah passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Raymond was a graduate of City High School, attended Chattanooga State on a tennis scholarship, attended UTC and graduated from Covenant College.

Raymond was employed as an Executive Sales Rep for Quest Diagnostics.

He was an avid sportsman and excelled in table tennis as well as tennis.  Raymond was a fierce competitor in both work and play.

He was a member of the U.S. Tennis Association where he traveled extensively in several championship tournaments.

Raymond was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and was a former Sunday school teacher in the youth department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Jannie Bell Rich.

Survivors are his wife, Kim Deakins Rich;  daughter, Lauren Rich, Fairhope, AL;

his grand-dog Penny; two brothers, Dave and Joe Rich both of Chattanooga;  several nieces.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Randy Thomas officiating and Steve Anderson delivering the eulogy.   Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Jerry Beasley, Ricky Holland, Eric Penney, Kent Patrick, David Eaves and David Snyder serving as pallbearers.
