Richard Byron O'Rear

Richard “Buck” O’Rear, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 while under Hospice care.

            He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Leslie Hull O’Rear; son, Rick (Gail) O’Rear; daughter, Christy (Pierre) Marre of Montpellier, France; granddaughters, Tiffany Marre and Abby O’Rear; grandson, Guilhem Marre; brother, Mack (Sharon) O’Rear; niece, Melanie (David) Greene; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

            Buck and Leslie wish to express our gratitude to Dr. Michael Goodman for his care and friendship over the years.

            The family would also like to thank his caregivers at Standifer Place.

            A celebration of Buck’s life for friends and family will be held at his church at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Chattanooga Endowment Fund or Hospice of Chattanooga.
