Robert (Bobby) Browner

Robert (Bobby) Browner, 87, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Bobby retired from Chattanooga Armature Works after 33 years of service. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Bobby was a member of the Alhambra Shrine Temple, Masonic Lodge 430, Red Fez Shrine Club, and the American Legion Post 95. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved bowling and bowled in the Senior League at Spare Time Bowling Lanes. Bobby participated in the Senior Olympics at the local and state level. He also loved golfing and was a team participant in the Industrial Golf League for many years. He looked forward to his weekly golf excursions with his golfing buddies. He had a hole-in-one while participating in a tournament at Brainerd Golf Club.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman Browner and Pauline Browner Dempsey and brother, Harold Browner.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Guice Browner; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Lisa Browner, Franklin, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Beth (Bryant) Constantine and Katie (Matt) West; two great- grandsons, John and James Constantine; one sister, Pat Greenway, Fort Oglethorpe; sister-in-law, Joyce Browner, East Ridge and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for taking loving care of Bobby.

Graveside service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, August 4, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. John Herberick officiating. 

We will be following the CDC guidelines with social distancing and facial covering, now required by Hamilton County, for the visitation and service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Legion, William E. Blair Post 95, 3329 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.
