Robert L. Cummings, Sr.

Robert L. Cummings, 81, of Ooltewah, TN, went to Heaven November 14, 2020.

He was born on December 27. 1938, to Herbert Lee and Loretta (Cagle) Cummings. Robert and his family lived in Ringgold, GA, until 1995 then moved to Ooltewah until his passing.

He graduated from Central High School in 1956. He worked at Combustion Engineering, now known as ABB, until retiring in 2003. He was general manager over scheduling and planning operations. He and his wife are members of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
 

He will be best remembered by his many acts of service to others, a man of faith, the neighborhood yard man who loved to talk to neighbors. He loved puzzles, fishing with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marsha Smith Cummings; 3 daughters, Kathy Casteel (Steve), Cheri Medders (Mike), and Jan Ingram; one son, Robert “Bob” Cummings, Jr. (Shelley); grandchildren, Joy Fletcher, Josh Queen, Emily Gunnells, Scott Queen, Christian Medders, Jenny McCulligh, Colby Cummings, Alyx Cummings, and Grayson Cummings; one brother, Jimmy Ray Cummings, Sr.; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Eric Bond; and a granddaughter, Samantha Casteel.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, November 17th at Moon-Jones Cemetery, 931 HWY 151, LaFayette, GA 30728.

All CDC guidelines will be observed during the graveside service including face coverings and social distancing.
