Tribute

Rose Marie Kesler Gregory, 87 of Chattanooga, passed away on the evening of April 2, 2018, in her home surrounded by family.

She was the youngest and the last surviving sibling born to John and Ila Garwood Kesler of Salisbury, NC.  She was educated in the Salisbury City Schools, having graduated from Boyden High School with the class of 1949.

Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  The family moved to Chattanooga from Atlanta in 1974.  They joined Concord Baptist Church in 1974 and continue to be active members.  Rose was a faithful member of the Joy Sunday School Class, loved working crossword puzzles and watching the Atlanta Braves.  Her life was devoted to her husband, raising her three daughters and serving her Lord, Jesus Christ.

After the girls left home, Rose became a volunteer at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga.  For 12 years, she worked with ladies she described as “a group who enjoyed working together and helping others.”  Rose will be lovingly remembered for her smile and infectious laughter.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Lee Gregory; daughters Kim Gregory (Carl) Collins of Chapel Hill, NC, Regina Gregory (Terry) Brock of Chattanooga and Bonnie Gregory Rose of Rocky Face, GA.  She was blessed with four grandchildren, James Gregory Brock, Phillip Lee Brock, Megean Marie Collins Simpson and Courtney Rose Brock Capehehart; five great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Brock, Heidi Brock, Piper Brock, Mason Brock and Will Brock; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will honor her life at 12:30PM Thursday, April 5, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David King.  Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Our family would like to especially thank Hospice of Chattanooga for the care and comfort provided.
