Shelah Brewer-Herr

Mrs. Shelah Brewer-Herr age 59, of Jasper, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Mrs. Shelah Brewer-Herr was born in Columbia, TN, on January 19, 1963, the daughter of the late Austin O’dell Brewer and Mary Emelene Pinkleton Brewer. She was a member of Simchat Torah Beit Midrash Synagogue. Shelah loved studying the Torah and being with her children and grandchildren. She loved to read, nurture her plants, painting, pickleball matches, and dancing like no one was watching. She was always eager to spend as much time as possible outdoors whether it was traveling to the mountains, beach, or just enjoying the Jasper Highlands Community. She loved sharing her home with everyone and facilitating community with those around her. Shelah’s passion involved mentoring women and being a source of wisdom for them.

Survivors include her daughter, Cassie Gutzman (Adam); two sons, Aaron Potts (Katie) and Benton Potts (Carolyn); her husband, Charles “Chuck” Herr; six grandchildren, Sadie Potts, M.T. Potts, Brant Gutzman, Hannah Potts, Levi Gutzman, and Benton Potts, II; and two brothers, Randy Brewer (Donata) and Ray Brewer (Sherrie). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 P.M. CST and 3:30 EST at Pat Summit (located directly across the Skybridge from Top of the Rock Restaurant and the entrance to Jasper Highlands 1584 Jasper Highland Blvd Jasper, TN 37347).

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you do a mitzvah to honor Shelah's memory. A mitzvah is a Jewish term for a good deed or act of kindness which was something Shelah lived by daily. If you feel led to contact the family regarding the mitzvah, they would greatly appreciate it.
