Sheryl Rodenburg Jordan, 49, of Chattanooga, TN. passed away Wednesday morning June 5th, 2019 at home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Sheryl was born February 20, 1970 in Honesdale, PA. to the late Philip R. and Lillian C. Rodenburg. She was also proceeded in death by her Stepmother Sarah Lopatofsky Cobb Rodenburg, her paternal grandparents Chester L. and Mildred Maudsley Rodenburg and her maternal grandparents Virgil and Vesta Spangenberg and her Aunt Marilyn Rodenburg.

She was a 1988 Honesdale High School graduate who loved music and playing the French Horn in the School Band.  In 1986 Sheryl’s love for music allowed her to attend the Sound of America Tour. After High School, Sheryl moved on to continue her education in the food industry and Holistic Healing becoming and practicing as a Reiki Master.

Sheryl loved to share her spiritual side with everyone who had an interest. She would spread her love and joy to anyone around her, and always with a smile. This making everyone around her feel more comfortable no matter the situation. She was also happy to be a member of Eastern Star Laurel Chapter 67 Waymart, PA.

Growing up Sheryl had the opportunity of working with her family and friends for many years at Day’s Bakery in Honesdale. Then after 7 years at Kmart Honesdale she moved on with her husband opening and operating The Streamside Inn in Steene, Pa for 12 years. Here with the help and support of friends and family, she had the opportunity to show her love to all by opening the doors on Christmas Day for anyone wanting a free Christmas Dinner. After closing the Streamside and moving to Tennessee Sheryl finished out her years as a Department Manager at Dillard’s in TN.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Jordan; her son, DJ Jordan and wife, Cheyenne; brothers, Mark Rodenburg and his wife, Yuka; Gerald Cobb and wife Amy;  sisters, Helen Cobb and Anita Lee and husband, Roger; uncle Richard Rodenburg, and aunt Ethel Newcomb; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Following the family returning home to PA with Sheryl, a Celebration of Life will be arranged at their earliest convenience. Everyone will then have the opportunity to say farewell and help celebrate such a loving soul.
