Sonja Irene Gulbrandsen Romano, 87, of Sale Creek, Tennessee passed away Monday March 6, 2023. A native of Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York, she was a former legal secretary in New York and Chattanooga, and was an entrepreneur as she started an employment agency for legal secretaries, a specialty baking business, and several other businesses. She loved to paint, sew and cook. She spoke several languages - Norwegian, Italian and Spanish. She was an accomplished self-taught pianist, guitarist and accordion player. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Dayton, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Romano, parents, Frank and Jenny Holte Gulbrandsen, brother, Rudolph Gulbrandsen, and grandson, Paul Romano.
She is survived by three children, Thomas Romano of Staten Island, New York, Linda (Greg) Jones of Sale Creek, Tennessee, and Erik (Angela) Romano of Hixson, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; Thomas Romano, Daniel (Allison) Romano, Jesse Romano, Benjamin Jones, James (Ashley) Jones, Michael (Brittany) Romano and Ashley (Cody) Bunch, nine great Grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
