Thadeus (Thad) Eliott Matthews

Thadeus (Thad) Eliott Matthews, 28, of Chattanooga passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 21, 2022 at his home.

Thad moved to Chattanooga last year from Ft. Walton Beach, FL and has been employed with Publix for the past 5 years currently working as a meat cutter with Publix at Waterside.

He was a graduate of Brooke Point High School in Stafford, VA

He attended Silverdale Baptist Church and was an avid cook, enjoyed computer gaming, and writing a historical book for children.

Thad was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Andrew Browning; and David & Lillian Matthews.

He will be remembered as a loving and devoted father and son.

Survivors are his daughter, Reyna Matthews, Baker, FL;   parents, Chip & Susan Galloway, Chattanooga;  father, Roger Matthews, KY;  grandmother, Jacquelyn Browning, Opelika, AL;  two brothers, Andrew Matthews, Tallahassee, FL,  Bryan (Chris Allen) Galloway, Charlotte, NC;  mother of his daughter, Jennifer Vliet, Baker, FL;  many aunts, uncles & cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Thad will be held Tuesday, November 29th at 11 am at Heritage, East Brainerd Chapel with Pastor Matty Finlay officiating.
