Brenda, Charlie, Teddy, and Family,

May thoughts and prayers go out to your family for the loss of Ted. He will never be forgotten and will remain alive in our memory. I remember Ted as a very cool, calm and collected individual. He always showed respect for others. He lived a life that others should inspire to live; service to his country, family, and friends. I never had long or significant conversations with Ted, but his presence and character said it all. It demanded respect from me as I hope I showed him. He raised two fine son's that I know and became best friends with Charlie. Ted Shelton will be missed.

Brenda and family, friends, fellow U. S. Postal Inspectors.

In 1979 I had a crisis in my career while Mr. Shelton was my INC. It was something that came from above his head. Never the less he was dispatched to carry out the decision that affected the rest of my 29 year career. HE CAME TO MY OFFICE. HE DID NOT CALL ME TO HIS OFFICE. He patiently explained my options. I followed his advice and another 21 years elapsed before I retired. It was a tremendous loss to our service when Mr. Shelton retired shortly after his meeting with me. It was as if he tried to step between me and a freight train. He got me out of its path. I am forever grateful.

If you are trying to put a face on me, ... I am the guy who bought your blue Chevrolet Caprice in 1979.
