Wallace E. Olson, Jr., a retired CPA, business entrepreneur, and current Diversicare board member, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the age of 70.

He was born on November 26, 1946, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to the late parents of Wallace E. Olson and Lillian Mildred Carroll. Wallace, known affectionately to others as Wally, was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He passed on to his family a love of traditions, honesty, and the ability to love life and live it to its fullest. His sharp wit and generous giving to others has created an inspirational way of living for his family.

He began his own company, Southern Care Centers, based out of Atlanta, Georgia. He later sold the company and began a dream of retirement. He and his wife, Pat, developed and nurtured their love for travel as they explored Europe and beyond. During this time, Wally became the Chairman of the Board of Diversicare (formerly Advocat) and later continued as a member of the board until his death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Olson, his children Melanie (Brad) Hake, Leslie (Chris) Morgan, and his four grandsons, Keegan and Christian Morgan, and Douglas and Davis Hake.
