William Brooks

William (Bill) L. Brooks, 87, of Chattanooga, went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Bill retired from Dupont where he enjoyed playing on their softball team for many years.   He was former owner of Southern Wholesale Tire.

He was a past president of the band boosters of Rossville High School and was an avid knothole player in his younger days.   He was a loyal Tennessee Vols Fan.

He was a member of Freedom Church in East Ridge.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Leland Brooks of Chattanooga, sister, Farris Corbin of Kensington, GA. and step-son, Steve Towe of Chattanooga.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Towe Brooks;  daughters, Sherry Nichols, Ringgold; Debra Reeves , Rossville, B.J.Howell, Ft. Oglethorpe;  son, Larry (Debbie) Brooks, Chattanooga;  step-sons, Robert (Norma) Towe, Whitwell, TN and Rick (Karen Wheaton) Towe, Hamilton, AL;  brother, Joe Hickman, Soddy Daisy;  sister, Linda Brooks, Ringgold; special cousin, Sammy Dorsey, Chattanooga;  several grandchildren,  great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Hamilton Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM with Pastor Nathan Garmany officiating.
