William Van Grit

William Van Grit, 86, of Ooltewah passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home.

Born in Meppel, Netherlands, Mr. Van Grit has lived in Ooltewah for the past 22 years.

He retired from the Modern Language Dept. of Southeran Adventist University.

He received his Doctorate Degree from the University of Connecticut and was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Van Grit;  son, William Philippe Van Grit of Ooltewah;  sister, Ellen Saunders of California; and brother, Rob Grit, of the Netherlands;  many nieces and nephews also survive.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
