Betty Zora (Rushing) Jacoby

Betty R. Jacoby (Rushing), resident of Collegedale, TN, passed away peacefully on July 17th, at the age of 89.  Born April 29, 1928 in Jasper, Alabama to Jess and Nola Rushing, Betty was an avid traveler and fiercely independent; having spent a lifetime defying the odds, living far beyond expectation with the effects of polio since the age of two. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry E. Jacoby Jr. of Chicago ,IL, where they lived for many years before and after her retirement from Hensdale Hospital. In later years Betty settled in Collegedale, TN to be near her brother and his family. Betty was a lifelong member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She is lovingly remembered by her ‘little’ brother, Jan Rushing of Collegedale, TN, her 4 step-sons – the brothers Jacoby, and her many nieces, nephews and grand nieces. Private burial will take place in Jasper, AL.  Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road.
