It is with great sadness that the children of Edward Lewis Miller announce the death of their Father on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
Mr. Miller was born on July 11, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Early in his life, he made Detroit, MI his home. In 2011 he returned to Chattanooga to spend the remainder of his life in the care of his children.
Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his parents John and Kathryn Miller and his son, David Miller.
He is survived by his children Mary (Chris) Burton, Edward (Cynthia) Miller, and Tammy Miller, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren Stephanie Burton Peden, Michelle (Roy) Oxford, Candice Miller, Eric Miller, and Joshua Miller; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Peden, Jacob Peden, and Zane Walker. He is also survived by his long-time companion Mozella Scott, her family, and many friends in Detroit, MI.
The family wishes to acknowledge the entire staff of Alexian Brothers PACE for the assistance and care they provided for Mr. Miller. The last two years of his life have been spent at Dalton Towers at The Health Center @ Standifer Place, where he made many wonderful new friends. The family is very grateful to the staff and residents for their love, kindness, and excellent care. Also,a very special thanks to Josephine of Senior Saints.
A celebration of Mr. Miller’s life will be held on July 11, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd Road from 12-2 with a service at 2 in the funeral home chapel. Internment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
