I will always value my friendship with Marilyn. She taught me so much about quilting and life in general. When I think of Marilyn, I think of a true lady, fair, honest, laughable with a wonderful sense of humor, practical and an endearing personality and warm heart. I will truly miss her.

I started as the horticulture agent 13 years ago and after Marilyn retired. She would stop in from time to time and share her life with us at the Ag Center. She was and will always be an inspiration to me. She promoted food and UT programs. Her accomplishments were building blocks for the local food movement going on now in Chattanooga.

Dear Jerry & Family,
Rosalie & I send our sincere condolences on the passing of your dear Mother. We were stationed with them in FWF Suitland and Lee and I became great friends. I enjoyed so much our golf games together. I used to visit with them on my trips to Atlanta (From MD) and your Mom was always a gracious lady and a great cook with a wonderful sense of humor. She always treated us like family. I miss your Dad and now your Mom
very much. May God Bless all of you. Sadly, Jim & Rosalie Romano

I knew & respected her. I was agent in Warren Co. Had been agent in Shelby Co and grew to respect the Food Marketing Specialist position with Margaret Love there. I know Marilyn was effective in her position and did love it. She was good at it. Did not know about her Navy career with spouse. Hope other retired agents send a comment. -- Mark Halcomb

Mrs. Geraldaon was such a precious person. She was always smiling and had kind words to say. She made my son a beautiful blanket when he was born that I treasure. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn was a very special ambassador representing UT Hamilton County Extension so very well. I always enjoyed visiting with her, and know how proud she was of her family. In my view, she was a renaissance woman who embraced change, had a fantastic attitude, and a work ethic that was second to none. Perhaps what I liked best was the fact that what we all saw on television was exactly how she was on a one-on-one and day-to-day basis.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. No one had a better laugh or bigger heart than The Veggie Lady. Chattanooga has lost a dear friend. She will be missed.
