My condolences to all the family at this sad time. How encouraging to know we can turn to "the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our trials "(2Cor.1:3,4) for help in coping with the days ahead. We look to the promise given at Rev.21:4 " God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." What a joyful time to look forward to. Sympathy to all.

I was so sorry to hear of Joanne passing. She was my next door neighbor and good friend. I always enjoyed talking to her whenever I got the chance. She was always so upbeat and such a wonderful Christian woman. She was such an inspiration to me with her daily walking on the Cleveland Greenway, playing in a local band, and being involved in the community. I will really miss her.

I was very sad to learn the Joanne had passed. We had exchanged Christmas cards in 2017 and we were looking forward to seeing her in Phoenix soon.

From my Mom, "This is such a surprise and I will miss knowing Joanne would be here this year to visit. But having said that, I am so glad that she must not have suffered for long, since it was so sudden."

The thoughts and prayers of our family are with all of the family.

I knew Joanne only for a short 6 months and saw her on Monday nights when she sat two chairs down playing her saxophone. She always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. I admire her so! She spoke of her family often with love and pride. A bright light in my week will be missed. Prayers for peace and comfort.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person. I loved playing with her in band and getting to know her. You'll be in my prayers.

I lost my precious, sweet Auntie Joanne Eberhardt (my mother’s sister). She was several days short of being 90 years old. Her death was sudden and shocking to me, as she was in good health (a lifelong vegetarian and Christian). She still drove a car safely, mowed her own lawn (unless her kind neighbor, Doug Coulter, beat her to it), moved furniture around the house, cooked and cleaned, gardened, gave several Bible studies each week (including this past week), played saxophone in the community band (her most recent concert was in December 2017). She loved to read the Bible. Recently she was learning a new hymn each week. At times she took care of widows, got groceries for shut-ins, visited the sick, and helped many other people. If she felt lonely, her antidote was to do something for someone else. We always had fun together, whether it was looking for books at the used book store (we both loved Holocaust books, in part because of the indomitable spirit and courage of those who were treated so terribly), discussing the Bible, working together in the kitchen, talking about happy family memories, and so much more. I’m so glad I got to spend her last full weekend with her. We talked on the phone often, including the day before she died, where we discussed the book "Nearly Forgotten: Seventh-day Adventists in Jamaica, Vermont, and Their Place in Vermont History," a book that includes our family - the Nichols and the Richmonds. She was beautiful and fun. Now she is at rest, waiting for the resurrection morning! I know she will be looking for her dear, loved ones (always in her heart and in her prayers) to be there, too. I plan to be there! Love and prayers for all the family. God is our comfort in time of need. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
